Quick
Tour of Detroit
Known
as the Motor City, Detroit plays host to the International Auto Show every
January and attracts guests and media from the four corners of the world.
Throughout the year, Detroit sponsors many other events such as the International
Freedom Festival on July 4th, Grand Prix, Thunderfest Hydroplane Boat
Racing, Ethnic Festivals, Montrose Jazz Festival. Some of our new attractions
include Vegas style casino gaming at 4 different locations on both sides
of our International waterway.
Detroit
is also a great sports town, known for its enthusiastic fans. The twice
champion Detroit Pistons, tip off at the Palace of Auburn
Hills. Comerica Park, a new baseball stadium for the Tigers, opened in
April of 2000; the Lions new football stadium is being built adjacent
to it. At Joe Louis Arena, the world champion Red Wings face hockey opponents
from across North America.
Live
theater is alive and well in Detroit. From the historic theater district
with the splendors of the restored Fox and Gem Theaters to the Fisher
Theater, Masonic Temple and Music Hall to a multitude of offerings both
in the city and the suburbs, a lively diversity of shows is available
year round.
